Your othre friend is the mental one...and its none of his business, i'd just make sure i didn't discuss topics like this with him again. Book the cabin, invite your friend to share it and tell her its your treat and your glad shes your friend, that way theres no implied need for her to pay. ( i got the impression she might be shorter of cash than you)
