What are some stories to those below average income students who pays their 4 year college fully?

I would have to pay a lot for my tuition this Fall at a CSU. I have no scholarships, my mom doesn't like Financial Aid's investigation and I am very close but not yet a US citizen to get a Pell Grant. I fear that I would be unable to pay in the future (I only work in a retail store) because my divorced parents did not prepare for this. Lastly, my mom is unemployed and my dad never to barely sends little money.
