How do I get spoiled milk smell out of carpet and my sofa? ?

I spilled probably 12 oz of milk on my microfiber reclining sofa. Right away I treated the sofa and forgot that it seeped into the carpet underneath. I have tried spot shot, febreeze, dishsoap, lemon juice, and baking soda, and although it helped, smell remains. It is so gross!! Too small of an area to replace carpet..what to do!
